🚨 Security Alert 🚨 Move Your Assets from CryptoBillis Ledgers
Ledger is investigating reports of wallets being drained. The affected users are in Southeast Asia and bought their Ledger devices from a reseller called CryptoBillis. On-chain analyst Specter puts total losses at more than $86 million.
Although the cause hasn’t been confirmed yet, we recommend treating any Ledger bought through CryptoBillis as potentially compromised until it is.
If you bought a Ledger from CryptoBillis, especially in the last 90 days:
If you haven’t set the device up yet, don’t.
If you have, move your assets to a newly created wallet as soon as you can.
Don’t import or reuse the old wallet’s private key or recovery phrase. If you do, the new wallet will be exposed to the same risk.
One option is CoinWallet by CoinsDo, ideally installed on an iPhone. iOS keeps each app separate from the others and has hardware-level security protections. This lowers the risk from tampered devices and some kinds of malware.
